“90” Never Looked So Good!! #JLC

JLC90thAs many of you know Amanda and I eat a lot of lunches together. Whether we’re out and about on the regular rotation of Downtown restaurants, or hosting an Agent’s Open House Luncheon at one of our listings, we’re usually together. Today was a little different. Instead of just talking about day to day issues, and having fun seeing a few friends during our routine lunch hour, Tuesday afternoon we got to hang out with a few hundred dedicated personalities that make up and/or support the Junior League of Columbia.

Monday afternoon I called some League member friends who I thought may in some way be in charge of the event, Claudia Baker and Ginny Stout Hairston to ask, “What do I need to do?” I was informed they had two tickets at the front and they’d love to have us. I texted Amanda that we needed to go, even for a little while. After all, it was going to be a Tuesday afternoon, a little cold and a little rainy, with a potential parking situation. In short, I thought there may be an attendance situation. I was totally wrong.

The Hampton Room at the Agape Center on Main Street was completely packed. So packed, in fact, that I offered my seat more than once. My phone doesn’t have enough memory to use the “panoramic” photographing feature, so the picture above does not capture the crowd size at all.

The event was first class all the way. I wasn’t only proud, but impressed. I wish we could have stayed for the full program, but Amanda and I had our first appointment to interview our new KW real estate coach at 12:30PM. Our ‘coach’ is another blog post, obviously,  but we had a very productive, needed conference call in the minivan after leaving the JLC event.

If you can’t make out the pic above, the two women on the microphone are Pamela Adams and Monnie Murray. As part of the 90th anniversary celebration, the League is giving the gift of service to the community and revitalizing Roy Lynch Park in Downtown Columbia. Pamela and Monnie are Chairs of the project, and I didn’t want to miss their time on the stage.

Thank you, and Congratulations to the Junior League of Columbia! Today was A++, top shelf, first class!! We are flattered to be included and involved in your efforts, and supremely proud to be sponsors/community partners as you continue to make Columbia, SC a better place to live, work, and play.

Thank you!!

Franklin Jones
