RED Day!: We Love Keller Williams, Columbia, SC!

On May 11, 2017 the good folks at our Market Center gathered together for Keller Williams Realty’s National RED Day. What is RED Day, you ask? “Introduced in 2009, RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is Keller Williams Realty’s annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, associates celebrate Mo Anderson’s birthday by spending the day away from their businesses serving worthy organizations and causes in their communities. RED Day is just another example of our commitment to each other and to the cities and towns where we live and work. Join us!”

Mo Anderson is one of the Grand-Poobahs of Keller Williams Realty International. While her official title is Vice-Chairman of the Board, her aka is the “Velvet Hammer.” I’ve seen her in action at various events, and the name fits. She’s also the author of,  A Joy Filled Life: Lessons From A Tenant Farmer’s DaughterShe’s also hilarious. Oh yeah, and she doesn’t like cussing. :-O

I was proud of our KW office and team. The Realtors, leadership staff, and vendor partners worked hours accomplishing various projects at Epworth Children’s Home, “creating a home for our college residents to live in.”

Here is the correspondence from the Volunteer Coordinator of Epworth Children’s Home:

__________

“Debby (Nalbone) and Laurie (Smith),

I would like to start off by thanking each of you and your committee members who organized the Keller Williams Red Day of Service with us at Epworth Children’s Home. We are beyond amazed at your professionalism and willingness to share your time and talents in giving back to our community.

For all of the volunteers who gave of their time and strength on the day off, God Bless you! We are so thankful to have had the project even considered but fully blessed to see the ability and ownership that each of you shared in completing the project. Thank you for creating a home for our college residents to live in. You each should be proud of your accomplishments and take pride in your service.

Thank you all for your hard work and ability to serve. We are blessed because of each of you.

Debby and Laurie- I would like to share w hand written thank you note to all those who volunteered with us on the day of service. If you have a listing of names, I can share those thank you notes asap.

Thank you both.”

Wow.

To be clear about a sentence above, “I’m proud of our KW office and team…,” here’s what’s what. While the statement is absolutely true, I ended up being a punk. I showed up, hung around, bought a T-Shirt, and had to go deal with stuff. Does this dilute the effort of RED Day? NO! Does this dilute this post? I hope not. That said, I didn’t want my hard working office mates and/or teammates to think I’m a poser posting this on the blog. Conversely, I want to recognize in my small way the hard work of our Top-Producing office. I love KW – Columbia, Keller Williams, and what Mo Anderson helped create.

Well done, Keller Williams – Columbia, SC! I’m honored to be a part of this family and I know the college kids/residents of Epworth Children’s Home are super proud of their new home.
Thank you!!!
